Robson Construction was engaged by Caribbean Utilities Company, Ltd. (CUC) for structural and finishing works at Engine Room 2 of CUC's main power generation compound in George Town, as part of the facility's Phase I decommissioning program.

The scope began with trench filling works to three open trenches within the engine room — waste oil cleaning and pressure washing to prepare the area, followed by reinforced concrete infill to bring the trench floors flush with the surrounding slab, completed within a 15 working-day program.

Robson Construction returned to the same facility to complete additional finishing works, including demolition of two existing concrete plinths to floor level, mechanical floor grinding to remove concrete laitance, and application of a protective epoxy coating system — epoxy primer followed by a durable epoxy floor topcoat — across the treated concrete areas.

This project was secured through a formal competitive tender process and carried out under an executed Master Services Agreement between Robson Construction and Caribbean Utilities Company, Ltd.
