Robson Construction delivered the new Old Man Bay Dock in Grand Cayman, helping bring to life a long-discussed waterfront project for the people of the district and creating improved public access to the sea.

The works included site clearance and preparation, environmental silt-control measures, pile foundations, structural beams, timber dock decking, concrete access works and associated improvements to the existing fishing hut and dock area. The wider project also included dredging at the existing dock area and at the location of the new dock to improve marine access and functionality.                                             

 

A key part of the project was creating a durable public facility that could serve the community for years to come. The new dock provides a practical waterfront amenity for local residents, fishermen and visitors, while strengthening access to the coastline and supporting traditional use of the area.

Construction in a marine environment required careful planning around tides, access, dredging operations, structural foundations and environmental protection. Robson Construction coordinated these elements to deliver a safe and functional public dock suited to Cayman’s coastal conditions.
